"Darkness" vs. "Light"
Regarding "Darkness", I do not mean to terrify individuals of the color "Black". "Black" does not always signify "Dark". "Dark" are things that have become tainted, sick, corrupt. Though "Dark" may appear "Black", it may also appear in the "White" sense. Such as things that are pasty white-grey, pale purple-grey, cold blue-grey, chalky sky blue-grey, sickly green-grey, hot yellow-grey, burning orange-grey, burnt red-grey. Things that appear hostile, supercilious, benevolent, "zombie-like", cold, emotionless, heartless, stiff, dead.
When I say "Darkness". It also means to say it as "Absence of Light", "Devoid of Light", or "Removed from Light". Desolate. Stagnant. Purgatory.

"Light" does not always equate with the color "White". Light may show itself in a variety of colors, as is with the "spectrum" of light. An example is with the rainbow. Though there may a "white" light, there may be "blue" light, "green" light, "red light", and even "black" light. As "Black" may be described as an "inversion" of White.
